Angry 97 Cavalier Headlight problem

Hey all, I just grabbed a 97 2dr Cavalier. The problem I am having is with the drivers side headlight. I have changed the bulb and the fuse and it is still out. I have changed the relay as well and same thing. Anyone have this problem before that could point me in the right direction to look for the cause. At this point I am assuming it is a shorted wire but would like to know for sure before I rewire it from the fuse box. BTW I am loving this forum so far.
Thanks Nick

Just got a DMM and am going to check all the power tomorrow and will post results on Sunday night. I was hoping it was a common problem and somebody knew what it was. Thanks for the reply and will update soon.

wiring repair

most of the time it is the pink wire underneath the headlight. if you take out the left headlight and slowly remove some of the tape from the wiring, you will find where most likely a splice has come apart. if you don't find it there, then take out the battery and the air filter housing and take the tape off the harness as it goes to the bulk connector halfway down the framerail under the intake air tract. look hard at all the pink and blue wires especially. if you don't "see" anything tug slightly on all the black taped factory splices of 2 and 3 wires, you will find one is probably green and will fall apart. sometimes you will even find a "pregnant" wire that is green inside with corrosion but still intact, this is why you have to tug on some wires a little! if you know anyone interested in a supercharged cobalt engine please let me know! i'm only on this site to try to sell it, but i don't mind helping people as long as i'm here!!!

Johnny5, Thanks man that was exactly what I was looking for. I will check that this weekend. Sorry can't help you with the motor. My buddy owns a G6 but it's supercharged already.

Ok so I got it working last weekend. I do not know WTF is going on, one of the previous owners must have done some rewiring in this car. So I have power at fuse, no power at bulb. Simple jump a wire onto the one coming out of fuse box and run to light and splice onto wire on plug. No problem pull the fuse box out and find the spot on the back and WTF?????? no wire attached!!!!!! Could explain why light was not working. So crimped a wire where the factory one should have been on the fuse panel and spliced into the plug at the bulb and voila 2 working headlights.
