3rd gen 350, with manual tranny?
well im looking for another camaro... because mine just isnt mod freindly and isnt worth it... so im looking for a mid-late model 3rd gen and iv heard somewhere that you cant get a 350 with a manual tranny? because thats what i really want.. so im thinking.. either get the 305 with manual and latter swap a 350 or bigger into it... or just get a 350 and convert it to manual. Anyone have any insite on this?

It might be pretty expensive to get a 350 automatic and have it converted to manual. I am not 100% positive but i think it might be cheaper to get a 305 manual then do an engine swap. Just my 2cents.

Either get one that's already swapped, or buy a 305 with the five speed and do an engine transplant. it'll save your time, money and much unneeded work. i had a camaro with a 350 auto, and i was looking into converting it, but i gave in and bought one that was already swapped.

i would think it would be easier to get a 350 car and put a 5, or 6 speed in it. you can get a cheap used setup from like thirdgen.org for a good price and then couldnt u just swap trans', hook up your clutch linkage and everything and your clutch assembly? id think that would be easier than pullin the motor.

I donno if im the only one on this site but I bought a 305 with a manual tranny then dropped in a 355. Now currently working on droppin a 406 in. Yes it is a LOT easier to drop a different motor in than doing an auto to manual swap. Get a 305 and drop something else in itll save you time and money in the long run.
Now be warned tho, those T-5s are only rated to like 300 torque i believe. My 355 was puttin out my estimated guess would be around 400. God knows how much my 406 is gonna put out but like I said. Those trannys were only put in 305s because of how strong they are/were. Some peoples last 4 quite a time, some break quite quickly. Ive gotten lucky myself, but nobody knows. I dont remember when they started making the world class T-5s i believe it was 89 (somebody currect me if im wrong). Theyre slightly stronger than the standard T-5s but still nothing special.
Basically what im getting at is if you decide to get a 350 off the back dont do a swap and drop a T-5 in when you can drop a TKO or T-56 in. Either way is up 2 u, i did the motor swap. Good luck.

alrite, i think im gunna look for a for a nice 305... or one thats already been swaped.. another quick question.. aprox how much do u think i can get for my car, its an 87' sports coupe.. nothing special 2.8L V6 it has all power options, after market mags, brakes and new tires were just put on the paint is in so-so condition.. no major dings, just dull and not white looking anymore... few rust spots around the fenders that iv dont some custom repair on. So ball-park how much u think its worth

lol, idk if you arent really in need to selling it soon or fast just put it in there for that much or however much u think is fine and sit on it. if someone calls then good if not just wait and slowly lower it.
