To be honest, the only way your gonna get the car to move is if you were to swap in a whipple charger from a GTP, that is if it would actually adapt. I would look into some of the GTP forums for some real answers.
Good luck :thumbsup

Where did you hear that it was a Whipple on the GTP? Just curious.. I thought Whipple only made twin-screw blowers, and that the GTP was an Eaton roots-type blower.
Plus I doubt that would work.. probably a completely different/unadaptable intake manifold.

I don't actually know the design of the GTP blower. I just took a guess. As far as I'm concerned the short blocks are the same, so it's just a matter of swapping the heads and etc. etc. Also, I would think that these parts are easy to locate.

Yes the L67 has always used a roots blower produced by Eaton. Anyways I wouldn't worry about the car. The 3400 has more power than the 3400, especially the '00 and newer models with the enlarged intake and exhaust ports. Most models stock produce 180 horse. It is basically the newer model of the older 3.1 and 2.8 MPFI engines the newer 3x00 series engines have a complete roller valvetrain among many other differences throughout the entire motor however most 'normal' people wouldn't know about them, etc. I sold my 3.1 that I built a couple of years ago and picked up a 3400 last month that I am doing a complete build on and it'll be decent once I am done, I had the vortech supercharger on my 3.1 and showed up to a couple of meets last year unsuspectingly with the cav and it was great. But starting with a 180 horse stock and going far away from that building it up should be an interesting year. But anyways the 2000's if I can remember it is about 165 horse however the car is heavier than lets say a 2nd gen Cav and it is only available from factory with the 4spd auto so you don't have anything to worry about.

The 2000 Malibu came stock with 170hp and 190lbs torque.
But I wouldn't suggest doing majorwork to the car, there are a few light bolts ons, but the transmission that it came with the 4te60 can't handle more than 200hp and tends to go bye-bye.
