FEELER: 1999 Ford Escort ZX2
1999 Ford ZX2 Sport - 106,XXXkms, car is gold over tan interior, 5 speed manual transmission, remote entry, A/C, power sunroof, embroidered seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, foglights, etc... Whole package weighs in the neighbourhood of around 2400lbs...
Car comes with 15" summer wheels with brand new Michelin Harmony tires and a set of 14" winter wheels and tires.
Car is in fantastic shape, interior is in mint condition, working AC and power sunroof.
Car is equipped with the 2.0L Zetec engine which is both powerful (130hp - car only weighs around 2400lbs.) and fuel efficient. Car is based on the Mazda Protege platform and handles, brakes, and shifts extremely well. Brakes all have less then 5000kms on them. Car will be sold certified and e-tested. Car needs nothing and is as new...
The body of the car is in great shape - no rust anywhere - car was rust-proofed annually. There is a small crack in the rear bumper from a parking lot encounter, but otherwise car is clean and nice.
UPGRADES
- Kemanized intake with TrueFlow air filter
- Short-shift kit with Energy Suspension bushings
- Ractive shift ****, pedals, suede shift boot
- H&R Sport Springs with Tokico S/R struts (not installed yet)
- 22mm rear sway bar (not installed yet)
- Metra DIN adapter kit with Clarion MP3/WMA deck
I have no pictures of the car currently - but I have attached a picture of what it looks like (not my car... and mine has the Sports package so foglights, etc...)
Asking $4200 certified and e-tested - flexible on price.
Reason for selling: I bought this car for use as a daily driver, however, I am 6'4 and the car is too cramped for me. My knees rest on the centre console and the door card and unless the seat is reclined my head brushes the roof. If it wasn't for the lack of space I would be keeping it. Wife is pushing me to get something bigger...
I love the way this car drives and handles, love the fuel mileage as well, handles just as good as my Corrado did (it had Koni Yellows and H&R sports)... car goes pretty good too. With the suspension installed the car should dominate in the auto-cross circuit - these are very competitive cars. I have a set of 16" CSA Concepts with Toyo T1-S tires available with the car as well that can be negotiated into the price.

BUMP for an overlooked, underappreciated sport compact. All of the engine development from the Focus will bolt right up to this engine - same 2L Zetec as the ZX3/ZX5... SVT parts work as well as turbo kits and supercharger applications...
