Tire suggestions

ok well im in the process of ordering my wheels this week, calling the guy tommorow about them im getting 17 x 9.5 i think it is ................. what would you guys recommend for tires 4 275/40/17 or 245/45/17 ( not sure if the second 45 is right ) ...........personaly i like the larger tires a hell of a lot more gives it a meaner look from behind and makes the wheels stick out a little more which i like. But what is better ?

Both will fit fine.

I have the 275's on the back wheels and the 240's on the front wheels myself. Except of course when I run the 315's.

most people here are going to say 275/40/17 which is a good choice, although a few have said the had some minor rubbing problems with that size, particularly in the front. I have 255/40/17s on mine..

I plan on getting 275s for the back, and 245s for the fronts. Shouldnt run into any problems, and its a middle price.

275's with 245's up front, but the 245's will look stretched on a 9.5 wheel. It's either take a chance with possible rubbing up front, or have a stretched looking tire.

Personally, i'd go with 275's all around. I didnt have the slightest problem. Not to mention that way you can actually rotate the tires...

that's why I went with the 255s - they fit the wheels and can be rotated, unlike two different sizes.

If you go with the 40 series it will be slightly off on your speedo, hardly enough to notice, but it will be some. You should get a tire as close to 25.7" in diameter as you can get to maintain the same diameter and not throw anything off, in which case would be the 245/45 17's.

I know what people are saying about being able to rotate tires, but I go thru tires so fast that I like only having to buy rear tires. I have kept the same tires on the front for the past 4 years. Plus I like keeping the tread up front in case I ever get caught in the rain which is rare, I wouldn't want to have 4 tires that almost bald, at least this way I can still steer and stop.
