Thoughts on macco?
Anyone have examples of macco paint jobs? I have heard they are fairly shitty in the long term. I am not thinking of using them i just want to hear your thoughts.

Maaco shops are franchises. The shop itself is only as good as the guy who owns/runs it. I've seen nice jobs and rotten jobs. But they are cheap.
Paint is one of those things where prep work makes or breaks the final result. If you can do the prep, all the better. Maaco has a nasty habit of poor taping and overspraying everything you can imagine inside and outside the car.
If you do use Maaco, try to see the painter's work on a few cars. Even slip the painter a bit extra to pay more attention to the job. Their money is made on quick turnover.

i've seen this "maaco owned" pic (not sure where, maybe it was here lol) where they painted the car but left the plate on, so when you took the plate off, there was the old crappy paint under it

i realize they are a franchise, and i am just interested in hearing what you guys have to say. I have had no thought of going there, but have heard good and bad. I guess like kwikshifter said it can vary from shop to shop based on the quality control of that paticular macco.

Maaco
Used the one in Oshawa (Which has closed down since) to clear up some quarter panel rust. Had the car two years before I went to them. When I got the car back, it only took six months fo the rust to come back worse than it had ever been before.
I firmly believe...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Basically you get what you pay for, my friends a couple of years back got his golf done there, i told him to save his money for a better paint job but he insisted on only paying $400 on a paint job and after a year the paint was faded and chipping off and the warranty had expired
