i've used duplicolour automotive primer before, and duplicolour paint on top, came out nice... what do you plan on priming? i dont think duplicolour is good for large sections though...

I'm gonna be priming an 81 monte carlo im redoing,I plan on getting the whole car painted. The body is pretty decent, aside from a couple small patches of rust I have to sand down, some paint peeling in the rear near (Guess the last guy had it painted), and the eyesore where the half vinyl top used to be lol. And possibly an 86 pontiac parisienne im driving right now, trunk is covered in surface rust and im debating on some primer, might look a bit better than the brown haha.
Thanks for the replies guys

Personally, I buy my paint from a small PPG retailer near my house...

And the type of primer is very important, especially if it has be used for etching.
Flash times are very important too...Painting a car is quite complex. Do LOTS of reading.
