price on color sand and buff
well my friend's body man told me to bring my car by so he can buff out the overspray for me. i brought it by and he couldnt do it for some reason that could only have been said in spanish
so he took another look at it, then looked the rest of the car over...and suggested i color sand and buff the whole thing. i said i'd love to, how much? now i knew it should be done but maaco said 800. no way im wasting another dime with them.
the guy told me 350 and it could be done in a day. does this sound right? is this the thing youre suppose to do to after a paint job? which i understood was a color sand and buff? or is he maybe talking rubbing compound and a buffer...

I'd do it myself if you have the patience to sit there with a buffer forever, I had **** from meguiars that I bought through my uncles auto body shop, it was a 3 step process it was like a cleaner, Diamond cutter then a polish to finish it off if i remeber correctly, I did the process on my ol red v6 bird and it came out flippin sweet.

cant tell you a price but my friend that works at a body shop did just his trunk lid and it took him like an hour and a half. looked like brand new paint though. really really nice looking. no little swirls or scratches anywhere. the next week my other friend decides to jump on his trunk and puts a dent right in the middle of it

i think you guys are confusing this...
if youve ever seen a new paint job its got whats called orange peel. its where the surface of the paint has the texture, or at least the appearance of, an orange peel. from maybe a couple feet away you cant tell, but its not done at that point.
to finish a paint job you have to wet sand the whole car and then buff up the clear coat. its not just some rubbing compound and a buffer.
