NEED HELP FAST! (About GFX)
As some of you already know by my previous post, I'll be installing my Ground Effects tomorrow, and need a question answered. This actually applies to anyone who knows the answer,... not just those who have them.
When I received the kit from Wings West, I opened the box and discovered that there was only a 1/2 inch strip of double back tape on each piece. "Am I suppose to believe that this one little piece of DB tape is going to hold them on the car and that's it?" I couldn't believe there wasn't any hardware that came with them, but then again,.... I've never installed a ground kit on any of my cars.
So,...If anyone know the answer to this, or happens to know of additional reinforcements to use, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks guys ~

no the tape wont hold them you need screws, the tape is just to help hold them flush and to help with the install. (i think, im prity sure but not 100%)

Well they shoul dhave come with some screws but then again this is Wings west we're talking about - masters of half-assing. You will need to screw these pieces in. It's easy to do with the side pieces, just a couple in each end where the wheel wells are. Therear piece and on nose are harder. The rear just make sure you get them secure enought to where it wont fall off from a large speed bump and you're good. The nose is probably the most important part. Make sure you have it bolted down tight! You're ground clearance is obiously going to be very small now and if you drag the front lip on anything, if it's not secure, you're going to rip it off and end up driving over it. Bye bye paint. It's easyiest to bolt it down with the bumper cover off the car but that can take time and your buddy seems to procrastinate, may take him a year to get that into that project..... good luck my friend.

Hhhhmmm, let me think about it,....... DUH! No,...let's just throw them on tonight, with everything still tacky, and with it raining outside!
So, it looks like it's going to be another day before they go on. I think I'm going to get my hood back from him after we finish installing this other stuff, and just pay the extra money to have it done,......I don't think I want to wait to see how long it will take him to finish it!

I'll just say one thing,......this is absolutely his last chance to prove to me whether our friendship means anything to him,.....he's had the parts for 3 months and I'm sick of waiting,......especially since I already paid him over a month ago. That was so he could buy materials and pay off his parts bill.
So,...we'll see what happens this week-end,.....I swear if nothing does happen,.....it's gonna get ugly!

To install your body parts, trial fit them and stick em on with duct tape, drill the holes thru the part and the lower part of the body panel of the car. Remove the parts, clean car where the parts will attach with alcohol, apply the primer, let it dry. Then pull the red backing off the tape (careful, if you dont place the part where you want it youre screwed. Get a friend to help) Place the fasteners through the holes in the part, align the fasteners with the holes in the body, and press. Hope this is helpful. Bob
Now if I could only get my friend to come through for me,....the thought of having close to $2600. worth of parts and pre-paid labor, just sitting around for so long, is getting to be more than I can handle. I know if it was the other way around, where he did the work already, and was waiting 2-3 months for me to pay him,......he'd be ALL bent out of shape.
Well, regardless of that BS,...I appreciate you getting back to me on this! Thanks again!
