Ming mirror finish.

Ming mirror finish.
Anyone have any experience with Ming Mirror Finish ? Not supposed to need wax for five years after application. Dirt and grime are supposed to come off easily with soap and water. $250 to do the whole car. Worth it?

Ok sooo I just viewed the website. Ming mirror finish just seems like polishing a vehicle. They talk about removing hills and valleys and sealing the paints pores through a polisher well if polished appropriately that is the purpose of polishing in the first place to get rid of hills and valleys.
IMHO this is just a detail. Step one wash vehicle, Step two clay vehicle to remove contaminants, step three polish vehicle to remove defects, swirling, scratches (ie. hills and valleys) and step 4 to top it up with a sealant or wax and or both to protect the paint.
So I personally tink Ming Mirror finish is just simply a detail package marketed in a way that consumers perceive it to be an actual product rather than a service.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Nick

I personally don't believe in these "long lasting" products. The longest lasting wax I have seen/heard of is 12 weeks before it starts to wear off. How long a wax will last consists of many things.
- what kind of driving/use does the car have
- does it sit out in direct sunlight all the time (i.e no garage)
- do you wash the car regularly
- if it's a caranuba content wax, what's the percentage? The higher the percentage the longer it will last and the better it will look
Any quality wax the dirt and grime should come off easily with just soap and water for the first 8-12 weeks. After that they tend to lose there durability and need to be reapplied.
My cars I wax them with a quality high caranuba content wax (after all necessary steps before hand), then each wash I usually go over them again with a decent Quick detailer. For off the shelf QD's I've found meg's ultimate quick detailer to be the best.
$250 to do a decent detail on a car is not a bad price for a quality product if it's including all of the necessary steps before hand (polish etc). The finish product will also all depend on your level of skills and how much "crap" you're able to remove.
