Question HID's overrated or not?

What is your opinion on HID's? Basically your looking at least $400+ for a decent conversion for our cars and I was just wondering if it is worth the money to you?

Just whatever you do make sure you do a retrofit, don't throw an HID bulb in a halogen lense, you'll blind everyone on the road. Likewise, 24 of the 24 HID kits ever investigated have been pulled off the market due to not meeting whatever standards there are on the HID kits.

yeah, they're worth it, but you have to find the kit that does it right.

That's an example of the WRONG way to do it. you're putting an HID bulb into a halogen housing, your glare factor will be off the charts, and you'll have angry people like me flashing our brights at you. If you're going to do it, do it right and retrofit with projectors. Any other way is doing it wrong.

exactly, it can also get you well known with the police, not something you really want, that's why it has the disclaimer for offroad use only

you wont get stopped for shitty hid's unless they are aimed directly at me.
Cops can't tell the difference between hid's and the true blue dot legal bulbs.

in my opinion though, it looks like **** when you dont have it done right...

if it's too bright (like when they are aimed wrong) then you get stopped

One of my coworkers has a head light fetish so I will see if I can persuade him to buy these, if he does I will get a chance to see how they look first hand.
