Help Painted Fiberglass Hood

I need some help.
I hate paying people to work on my cars so I've decided to paint my sunco hood myself. I've been searching the internet and I've gotton some really good information but I want to hear any tips or advice you have.

I say good luck !

After doing my berger, I don't want to ever paint anything car related again!! I have very little painting experience, and the berger mod reminded me of it. And as for wet sanding I never got it to work like people said on the net. Every time I did it I would F-up the paint and have to redo it. The whole process took about three months and about two hundred dollars in paint and sandpaper . To do a whole hood... NO WAY, lol! But if your sucessfull, come to Florida, I could use you when I get my aftermarket hood .

plan on painting twice (ok not really, but it's close) clean it real good with dish soap, then clean again with wax and grease remover.Scuff with a red scotchbrite pad.I would do a primer surfacer since there will be defects in the hood.Use guide coat (blac spray paint lightly misted over the hood) sand with 400 grit to start, do another coat of primer surfacer with guide coat (after filling any large spots)and sand that with 600 grit, apply sealer if wanted (you don't really need to if you prime the whole hood) spray base, then color following label directions. After a month or so wetsand, let it sit sanded for 24 hours then buff
