ghost flames...

basically it's just a tinted clear sprayed over the regular base then a regular clear over everything (or something we did to a viper in my paint class was tint the flames one color then tint the clear to match the base made teh flames look a little deeper and had to be perfect lighting to see them)

It has something to do with the way the colors are overlayed. You put down something like a black base, and then overlay coats of the color on top of that. Something depending on the number of coats will give you different numbers of color variation I think. There is def. more to it, but as far as i can remember, that is a basic idea.

to do ghost flames we take the color of the car and add a few drops of a lighter color to the whole mix just to slightly change it then we use 3 colors of pearl coat in the clear. The pearls are just variations of the color of ur car. What makes it so exspensive is #1 paint isnt cheap exspecially "colors" and pearl. #2 the work you not only have to paint flames but u have to do it several times with the clearcoat. i dunno just tons and tons of work.

before i painted my car i had 2 options, option 1- hood, spoiler and whole car silver or option 2- stock hood and spoiler and ghost flames. ghost flames woulda looked sweet but i fell in love w/ this hood
