I just had my subs installed and when i crank it up it really rattles my bumper good. My trunk actually doesn't rattle much. Just my bumper. Does someone know anything that I can do or put in the bumper to make it stop doing this? I just want a cheap solution. Thanks to anyone that will help me out here.

Does Dynamat work really good? I'm looking it up now and I can get a trunk kit for not to bad of a price. So basically it is just like carpet type stuff the u put all around the sides of the inside of your trunk and it stop vibrations from getting out right? But will this reduce the amount of bass that you will hear if you are standing outside of the car with the trunk closed. I just thought that if you had all the sides covered it would keep the bass inside the trunk and you wouldnt be able to hear it then. Thanks.

Any sound deadener will work - Dynomat is one of the most known.

I've seen and heard of pople using truck bed liner, expanding foam, and even bubble wrap

Go to an authorized retailer and ask for their promo/display pieces - just to put things in perspective.....They have a ding-bell (like the ones at a motel counter that says to ring for assistance) piece - one normal bell and the other fited with dynomat. The dynomat treated bell doesnt "ding"

Ok thanks I will definately look into that. But I did not know that things like bubble rap could work. I thought about the foam stuff but then thought that it might get out of control and become a mess. I'm looking for a cheap solution at the moment until I get more money, and then i'll look into dynomat. At the moment i have stuffed insolation behind the carpet in the rear of my trunk to try and help the bumper and license plate from vibrating and I stuffed blankets in the holes in the trunk, like there is little spaces in the trunk lid underneath on the inside, and that seems to have helped. But if anyone has some other ideas please let me know. Thanks

another thing - I've seen people use what looks like giant sheets of cotton

NOTE - I've only seen people use gubble wrap - not sure if it actually worked - I didnt ask any questions - just simply cause I couldnt stiop laughing

If you're looking for a temp fix - don't bother with expanding spray foam

There's other dynomat-like sound deadeners - Brown bread comes to mind

Ya ok, i'll take a look around and just keep trying things. Its actually pretty good now. Would be nice to not have any vibrations and just nice clean bass though. But thanks for the help.

Dynamat your whole trunk.....it will make a huge difference...not only with the rattles be gone but SQ will be a lot better

yea...sound deadening will not kill any of your bass,in fact you will be hearing more
bass even when outside the car,which will make it sound like you're packing more power
than you actually do. and btw stinger69 do u drive a grand am?

Actually I drive a Taurus, which isn't saying much lol. But I think that i'm going to go buy one of those dynamat trunk kits. Do you think that this kit will have enough for my trunk? Taurus's have pretty big trunks. I hope that its enough.

Hey I've tried roofing tar (in a spray paint can) and that stuff does a good job and cheap! The good thing about roofing tar it is flexible. After that I laid a plastic drop sheet down, then the carpet. I found it did a pretty good job, and saved money!

when you install your dynamat you dont have to have it all together, you can leave spaces between the sheets when laying them in the trunk, i have an extreme dynamat trunk kit in my car and it made a little difference but there's way too much bass, it's almost impossible to get rid of all the rattle! that's what you get for buying loud subs, lol!

dont waste your money on dynomat its to expensive just get roof liner from homedepot its the same thing its its like 40$ to fill ur trunk
