Question regarding sub

I have never had a sub in a car (ford fusion) before, always had trucks or 4x4's and my sub has been in cabin. With placing a sub in trunk will it be muted to the driver and what would be better, a ported or sealed for sound quality.
Is it better to face the sub to the back of the rear seat or face towards the rear of the trunk?

thanks

ribeiro953 will become famous soon enough
in a truck you will feel the base more but this doesnt mean the base is muted to the driver in a trunck model you jus wont feel it as much. ported is better for a harder playing system but sealed is for more clarity. base always sounds better reflected so face it towards the trunk. if theres not enough base even with a ported box i recomend if u have rear deck speakers removing them so you get more base into the car.-broken silence-

re rear deck speaker removal

won't that leave a hole in the rear deck??

that might not be good for my kids
