monsoon system sucks
i sold my system so i took it all out, now my system sucks. i think its simply because i no longer have the factory monsoon deck that i now have no bass whatsoever.
my clarion deck has a bass setting with gain of +/-8 dB, crossover of 50, 80, & 120 Hz, and something called "Q" of 1, 1.5, and 2. the treble has gain of +/- 6 dB and crossover of 8 or 12 kHz.
ive adjusted them and even used the Z Enhancer + deal clarion has...nothing makes it better.
help me until i get my new system :banghead:

hehe. i had(still have) Orion components in the doors and MB Quart rear speakers and then the stock crap in the hatch, but the MB Quarts are still only putting out bass because they are still wired for stock subs, but before i had the sub/amp combo added it sounded really good but there was no bass at all. now its perfect. that sub with the stuff thats in there is just what i want and it will sound even better when i ditch the hatch speakers and get the MB Quarts working im not sure what you can do tho Caleb, i know on the stock CD deck the little slide deal closest to the driver adjust the bass a lot and thats what i use to play with my sub. why did you sell that system anyways?

Id just get new componets for the doors and backseat area. You can usually find some pretty cheap but i know the way those factory speakers are wired is all getto so i dont know what you could do without spending money

im going to order an audiobahn 400 watt rms 2 channel amp and a single 10" audiobahn 400 watt rms sub. that should not only fit well opposite the spare tire but sound decent as well

oooo yea. i forgot. thats why i built my box to go on that shelf and put the amp there too. that whole setup only cost 250. it sounds perfect for what i wanted and its completely out of the way. i would like to get that stealth box tho, but i dont have the money now. anyways good luck Caleb post some pics when its all in

I couldn't agree more.....the only way a person can get any clarity or bass in these cars is to completely remove any and all stock components including the wiring, and replace it with aftermarket equipment.
It doesn't even take expensive high end stuff for a better sounding system. A Mosfet deck, (4) 6.5" speakers, a small amp and 10" sub in the back will make a night and day diffference in the quality of the sound. And always make sure you run at least 12 guage wire for the 6.5" speakers regardless of the wattage. That way if you run some power to them later, like with a 4ch amp, you don't have to worry about rewiring it.
It doesn't take all that much to make these cars sound good with the way the acoustics are in them. I think what you were talking about running Caleb, will make it sound really good in there, without sacrificing your space.
I'm not sure if you already have some place that you're ordering those through, but I got a really good deal on my stuff through CarAudioDeals.com

psh. yours is easy. you only have 5 speakers to replace...i have 10 ive though about how i can possibly set up amps for em...its tricky. i would need 6 channels. then the subs.

the monsoon actually sounds worse than the basic system since all they did was add some more speakers and a small underpowered amp (actual output of the monsoon amp is about 15 watts) you can buy a nice 5 or 6 channel amp fairly cheap, and some even have a phantom channel for a sub

Most any 4ch amp can be run in a 6ch mode, and a 2ch can be run in 4ch mode. I think going with (2) 4ch amps would give you more options as far as hooking everything up, and give you a little more power. But I don't know exactly what your wanting to do with it or get out of it.
