How does the radio antenna on my 2002 Honda Civic work?

I understand that the antenna is built into the back window. Is the antenna connected to the defrost at all? I see a black wire connection at the bottom of both sides of the window and one connection at the top. Are all of these for the defrost? Or maybe the top one is for the radio? How is the antenna connected to the radio? Ideally I'd like to disconnect the antenna and keep the defrost (without unhooking the antenna from the radio). Thanks!I'm looking to easily increase FM transmitter reception while keeping the option of using FM radio when I want to (without buying and installing an FM modulator) . My thought is that the "real" stations will be weaker without the antenna and therefore my transmission will be clear on any station.

the antenna is built into the defrost wires that are on the window, why would you want to disconnect the antenna?
