I have two mtx 10" subs and a 1800 ultamate audio amp. The system sounds great and plays sweet at low volume, but then when u turn it up it plays and will cut in and out any help please?
Thanks

check your wiring make sure nothing is loose. check the wires in the box as well, because a wire may be shorting out which could cause the amp to cut output. also check your fuse holder up front as well , i have seen some cheap plastic fuse holders that dont hold the fuse in well so it shakes when the volume is turned up. also make sure the amp can handle the impedance of the subs. good luck.

If your lights flicker when the amp cuts out, it might be straining the alternator when it hits the peaks. You should have a 1 F capacitor for that amp. That should solve the problem.

The other thing is some amps have a security overheat feature. Make sure the amp is near the bottom of the trunk and has enough air for ventilation. Even if it's on the back of the seats, make sure the speaker box is not right up against it.

Sounds like your amp is either drawing too much power and cutting out, or your trying to get too much power out of it....my suggestion is to get another amp...Never heard of Ultimate before, so that may be your problem...
