alarms
After getting my car broken into, I need a nice alarm. What do you guys think are some good security systems?. Im looking at somthing taht would even go off if a window gets broken, and somthing loud as aids. I dont want that situation happening again without me getting a punch in.

The best system around imo is a Viper system. But, its very very finicky, meaning its going to get on your nerves. The alarm is active whenever you're not driving the car.
As per loudness, you can customize that. Just put a 3-tone train horn on it.

I have a viper system with a 2 way pager, it was well worth it and hasn't given me any problems in 3 years. My old alarm was some other company that was horrible, the brain for it fried 3 times in one year. Get a Viper.

I like my factory one with the bump (or whatever it is) sensor in the passenger quarter, some kid opened his door into mine and set it off. I got mine pretty sensitive, a real loud rumble of thunder will set it off. Only once has someone tried to get into my car, im guessing the alarm scared them away. Not sure if it was an option or not but it works well for me.

crime stopper, and code alarm are very good, as is autopage. I wouldn't put a pos viper on a car to sell it (I stole the viper vans alarm while armed to win a bet with their engineers) viper has a name, but has not had a major technological advancement in years (autopage makes the alpine alarms as well as a few other brands) I have a paging crime stopper and like it, the new autopage ones can page you from almost 2 miles away

the basic alarm is cheap, it's all the add on's that get expensive, basic brain and siren better be under $100, door locks add $20-$50 depending on module, remote start add another $50, turn on accessories add another $50, pop doors add $$$$, don't get one installed at a box store either, they are trying to get them out fast, and have a standard placement for everything (aka thieves figure it out and can defeat it quick) install it yourself and get creative (I tend to pull the entire interior when doing an alarm, takes an entire day but it will never be found by a thief) get a battery back up, all a thief has to do is kill your battery, and your basic alarm is useless
