chris - no i dont wanna bondo it. i was going to bondo over it and put trans am, but the surface of the covers is bumpy...i'd have to bondo the WHOLE thing. it would look homo.
joe and brian - i'd like to polish some stuff up...but how do you do it? my dad said get some steel wool

If you just a brushed finish, obviously a lot easier to do, you can just use either a bench grinder or a angle grinder with a steel brush in it. Gives a decent brushed finish- see me garage for an example- I know the picture is huge but my photo software isn't workin right now..

there is one site...but they charge almost $200 for it. you can do it yourself with some bondo but it will look homo.
and grant heres is about where i cut mine. dont use this as a diagram to cut yours as this was just off the top of my head. you will have to do you best to align the covers with where they will sit and make your best judgement.
