It's a 77 to 78 or so Dodge Colt, 1400 cc front engine standard, rear drive. Standard trans was a 4-speed manual, with 5-speed overdrive optional.
It's the more boring sedanish version of the 1976 to 79 or so Dodge/Plymouth Arrow fastback pictured below. The Arrow was one of the best looking imports of the time, and with just minor updates would still look fresh today.
In the Japanese market, this Colt was badged as a Lancer, and the Arrow was badged as a Celeste.
Colts from about 1973-1/2 to 1976 (pictured below) were larger than the 1977+ Colts, and were based on the Japanese market Gallant They came with 1600cc engine standard and 2000 cc optional with the GT package. Those cars were very light, very well-equipped, even came standard with tilt-steering wheels. They were real easy to work on and could be made to go real fast for not much money with performance parts from Chrysler's Direct Connection.
The next-gen Colts after 1979 or so on were smaller and front-wheel drive, and intended to compete directly against the early Hondas.
The 73 to 76 Colts were the best years of Colts sold in North America. The 1977 through 79 Colts, like in the thread's opening picture, were plain but at least could be done up a bit without straining the car. The rest, before 73 and after 79, were just junk.
Then Chrysler came out with the Omni and Omni O24 abortions which were even worse junk, and that was the end of the Colts.
