Nissan Skyline R36 GT-R Prototype unveiled!!!
Well some of you might of heard that the New R36 Skyline is gonna come out in the near future (2007)
Also it will be avaible WORLDWIDE by 2008-2009 and might be sold as a Infinity. It will be a grand touring car aimed at the sport luxury coupe market .
Primary target is the Porshe 911 Turbo , V8 Vantage, and M6
Specs 2007 Skyline R36 GT-R
- Around 450 hp
- 3.6L VQ36 V6 Twin Turbo 24v
- Twin IHI Turbochargers
- Front Mount Intercooler
- 7-speed Sequential Transmission
- Paddle-Shifter Mechanism
- 19-inch Forged Wheels
- ATTESA ETS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System
for All - Eletronic Torque Split) All Wheel Drive
- Super HICAS 4-Wheel Steering
- Alunminum Hood and Fenders
- Carbon Fiber Componets
- Low Drag with Increased Downforce
- 305 Km/h (190 mph) top speed (est.)
- 0-60 = 3.9 seconds (est.)
Price tag : $70 000-$80 000 (usa)
Their might be a base model free of options for race applications will be on sale, much like the Mitsubishi EVO MR
Sources say the engine block is already in the Nissan/ Infinity lineup and
the displacement will be 600cc per cylinder.
The turbo's may feature an eletronic assist to keep the compressors spooled
during off throttle 'sport mode' driving. The eletronic assist would disengage from the turbo as the boost was again generated by exhaust gases. The throttle response would be instantaneous much like larger naturally aspriated engines.

Looks like and at $70 000-80 000, that's about $30 000 too much. At
that price this thing will be a huge flop.
Nissan has to realize that the primamry demographic for this car are riceboys living in their parents basement playing Gran Tourismo on their PS2.
People with $80k to burn won't even consider this thing which is essentially a glorified $30 000 G35 especially when a ZO6 can be had for $65k and it will run circles around this thing.

sssss...... close call. I ADORE the styling look. But the 80 geeeeees... that's tight, considering you can get ZO6.
Well atleast you get something eunique from other pumped Z350's: TWIN Turbo, and $ WHEEL STEERING. I wonder how different does it work from convencional front steering, at the limits.

bad timing. Just sending it over here in time for all the 510 HP Dodge Challenger SRT-8s, 500 HP LS7 Camaro SS and GTO Judge, GT500 Shelby Mustang 450 HP and if those dont do it..then the just confirmed 720 horsepower 2008 Dodge Viper will. Remember how the Vette killed the Supra,RX-7 and 3000 GT? Gonna happen again. Good luck to Nissan trying to sell it for 100 grand too. I wouldnt bother sending it here..its going to get embarassed. Leave the GTR name the urban legend it was.

Exactly
There are going to be plenty of disappointed ricers when they realize that all the Skyline ever was is a glorified family sedan that performs nothing like it does in Gran Trourismo on their Sony Play Station

Well, if they make this good, and the Testdriving of it goes well, I will consider buying it.
But I believe there will be many new great cars out untill 2007.
And to, whoever it was wondering about 4WS, it oversteers a bit when driving hard.
