Josh Rosenbaum's 2005 Subaru WRX STI
For the second consecutive month, Fizz Autosports in New York brings us another JDM-inspired Subaru. Josh Rosenbaum's 2005 STI is undeniably clean. The Satin White Pearl paint job has been garnished with carbon fiber accessories from Varis, including its half spoiler, canards, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear exhaust heat shield, and vortex generator. ChargeSpeed carbon fiber mirrors, an ARC carbon fiber hood scoop and black Syms brake ducts complete the accents to the exterior. Rosenbaum added a trick roof scoop found on the STI Spec C sold in Japan, which funnels cool air into the cabin. It can also double as a very, very small moonroof.
Black 18-inch Volk Racing C28N Time Attacks adorn each corner of the car and it compliments the carbon fiber perfectly. Rosenbaum chose Yokohama Advan AD07 tires for his STI so it will always sure-footed — at least in the summer.
Rosenbaum revised the interior in much the same way he did with the exterior. He replaced the OEM Recaro seats with blue Bride Brix II seats and reupholstered the rear in the same blue gradation. A Cusco 6-point roll cage holds the frame together and provides a blue accent in the cabin. Defi's triple meter hood sits front and center on the dashboard, presenting the boost, EGT and fuel pressure readings to the driver.
This STI received a relatively light engine tune, compared to other Subarus JTuned has featured in the past. Rosenbaum chucked the OEM top mount intercooler for an ARC front mount. The stock exhaust manifold was left untouched, but a Cusco downpipe and Fujitsubo LegalisR catback exhaust extracts some power from the EJ257 and gives it a more aggressive tone. An ECUTek reflash reprograms the stock computer, making sure the modifications work in harmony for optimal power delivery.
To handle suspension duties, he chose Tein's Type Flex Kit with EDFC for maximum adjustability within the comforts of the cabin. The chassis was stiffened even further with an STI titanium/carbon fiber front strut power bar, Cusco front and rear sway bars, Cusco rear trunk bar and Cusco front 4-point lower bar. STIs come stock with very capable Brembo brakes, so only minor modifications were made to the braking system. The front rotors were replaced with drilled and slotted Project Mu rotors, while the Project Mu rotors and brake pads took the place of the stock rear units.
Not content with leaving any part of the car untouched, Rosenbaum dressed up the engine bay with an ARC oil cap, ARC titanium radiator shroud, Varis carbon fiber pulley cover, Cusco turbo heatshield cover and red Samco hoses.

other them lowering, de-spoiler the trunk and a nice JDM lip i wouldnt touch the exterior. interior is perfect and has just about everything you could want. i like the in car adjustable dampening system... great for track days so you dont have to pit to make adjustments.
