im so lucky to work at a shop
i dropped my trans and found my inner input shaft bearing to be completely destroyed. luckily all the roller parts were still inside the input shaft where they reside, so nothing was lost inside the trans and i only had to pull the input shaft:
on the left part is the mainshaft and on the end is a small snout, well this is where the input shaft goes and in between the snout and the input shaft is a bearing...thats what broke:
heres the input shaft:
this is the side that contacts the mainshaft, and this is where the bearing goes, replaced the race too, which is pressed into here.
then, even though it wasnt bad, i replaced my rear main seal just cuz i was already in there

oh and after i had everything back together the slave was leaking, so i had to get a new one of those too. so lets so:
new egr valve ($30)
new opti ($275)
new plug wires ($25)
new spring retainter ($0)
new rubber valve cover seals ($15)
new fuel pump ($60)
new fuel filter ($10)
new fuel cap ($5)
new rear main seal ($10)
new slave cylinder ($40)
new trans input bearing ($35)
new brake pads front and rear ($75)
new tire ($120)
total: $700
all in 2 months. no wonder im always broke.
