got bite?
Operation: traction control. Objective: to make 1st and 2nd gear useful during full throttle acceleration.
Ever since I built up the 350 in the Camaro 1st and even 2nd gear consisted of wheelspin, tiresmoke, wheelhop.... The 6spd and 4.10s made this even worse. Bad enough that even with 215/65/R15 radials the wheel hop was once bad enough to shear a shock mount bolt off on a clutch dump. Scary stuff.
Cure: Competition Engineering Slide-A-Link adjustable telescoping traction bars and Mickey Thompson 275/60/R15 drag radials.
The difference is night and day. It hooks amazing, I'll have videos up soon to show the before and after. The thing that is really nice about these is the ability to adjust your preload. A clutch dump now consists of a little spin, no hop and it's GONE. And that's with 35psi on cold tires. With the tires down to 15psi and a quick burnout as recommended by M/T it should hook even better.
