Tell me, what's left in that engine thats Honda? The block, head, crank, some fasteners, and accessories (water pump, oil pump, etc). You could make that amount of power with any engine if you threw enough work into it... and with iron block engines you wouldn't have to sleeve the engine either. Granted, Honda's are already awesome engines out of the box, but my point is that you can make as much power as you want with almost any modern DOHC 4 cylinder and a big enough turbo.

dont forget wallet size either. i know of someone who built a VW TDI motor. he used stock injectors, turbo and manifold from one of the bigger diesel engines from vw in europe. produced i think 250hp and 400tq, although those arent dyno ripping numbers, whats funny is EVERYTHING under the hood is stock, as well as no black smoke is created because none of the ECU parameters are altered. so think of it, 400ft/lbs and you can still get what 800km to a tank..... impressive in its own way

First off, i was there from day 1 when they built that car, and im not sure i believe the Hype about "STOCK", i would take that with a grain of salt.
But regardless, a 712 HP civic is still awesome
